The Fair Ground
We’re people—regular ones—who spectated too much nonsense and decided to build something better.
It started the way most Texas things do: with heat, stubbornness, and a little rebellion.
In the thick of the Covid era, we showed up—mask on, signs up—at school board meetings that thought banning books and ignoring public health made them brave. Spoiler: they got voted out. It wasn’t magic. It was organizing. And community. And a refusal to let bad decisions slide by quietly.
Fast-forward to the summer of 2024: what began as spirited protest turned into a Facebook project called The Rational Side of Mansfield. We thought we were just documenting local drama. Turns out, folks were hungry for truth. For clarity. For a little snark with their civic engagement. Our inbox filled. Our reach exploded. And then—because irony never sleeps—a school board candidate tried to warn every MISD parent about us via a mass email. They might’ve been going for fearmongering, but they just gave us a marketing boost. Thanks for that.
From there, things got serious. The more we dug, the more we realized Mansfield isn’t alone. Cities all across Texas are growing fast—but too often without the support systems and representation their communities deserve. That’s why we built The Fair Ground—a space for journalism, advocacy, mutual aid, and movement-building. We want to be one of the first websites of its kind: responsive to community demand, rooted in fairness, and unwilling to play it safe when truth is on the line.
We’ve got a stupid big vision. And it starts with four people you should probably know.
Our Founders
Brandon Brady
Journalist. Loudmouth. Occasional peacemaker.
Brandon has a brain that never turns off and a heart that can’t watch people get steamrolled by power unchecked. He leads with facts, f-bombs, and fierce love for public education and community-driven justice.

Della Sapp
Organizer. Strategist. Backbone of the team.
Della is the kind of person who remembers everything—especially the things others hope you’ll forget. Her calm strength and clear-eyed insight have guided this project through chaos more times than we can count.

Jason Dyer
Storyteller. Connector. Voice of reason (usually).
Jason is that rare person who listens before speaking, and then speaks with clarity that cuts through the noise. He sees the bigger picture—and helps everyone else see it too. Bluntly.

We built this because the ground isn’t fair unless we make it so.

Welcome to The Fair Ground.
