Crisis Response Referrals

If you’re being targeted for speaking out, we’ll help connect you to advocates, resources, and community support.

We stand with residents facing retaliation or intimidation.

What is a Crisis Response Referral?

Sometimes doing the right thing comes with backlash. Maybe you spoke up at a public meeting. Maybe you filed a complaint, ran for office, or just asked the wrong question. A Crisis Response Referral connects you to advocates, support networks, and resources that can help.

We don’t offer legal advice. But we do believe that no one in our community should be left on their own when they’re being targeted for speaking up.

Why We Offer This

Because retaliation is real.

Because fear silences truth.

Because too many people in Mansfield have been punished for standing up, speaking out, or simply existing in public spaces they weren’t “supposed” to.

The Fair Ground is committed to showing up for people who get punished for caring. This referral system is how we start building that safety net.

What We Can Help With

Each situation is different—but here are a few examples of how we may be able to support:

  • Mental health support after bullying, intimidation, or job retaliation
  • Disability advocacy groups if your child’s needs are being ignored or punished
  • Housing rights organizations if your living situation is being threatened for political or personal reasons
  • Safe reporting options if you’ve witnessed misconduct and fear retaliation
  • Journalistic support if you want to share your story anonymously or publicly

We’re Open to Collaboration

If you run an advocacy group, counseling practice, nonprofit, or community resource—and you’re willing to partner with us to help residents in need—we want to hear from you. This referral system is still in development, and we’re building it to be strong, responsive, and rooted in our local reality.

Let’s build it together.
